The Schwinn Roadster 12-inch Trike – Nothing Rides Like a Schwinn!

Schwinn 12" Tricycle

If your child hasn’t ridden a Schwinn Tricycle yet, it’s something they need to experience for themselves. What is it that makes these bikes so cool to ride? What do they offer the rider for security, safety, quality and style?

Read through our helpful review and find out all about the Schwinn Roadster 12” Tricycle and learn why Schwinn has such a great reputation for value and fun.

The Feeling of Riding a Schwinn Tricycle

One name that has been synonymous with bicycle quality and excellence for decades has been Schwinn! And who doesn’t remember the first time they got behind those wheels? Remember gripping those handle bars, placing each foot on the pedals, looking out into a now limitless horizon! Wheels meant freedom! And falling…but freedom none the less!

It’s never too early to share that feeling with little ones, which is why Schwinn has introduced its Roadster 12” Tricycle! A Trike built for the toughest and most stylish Tykes!

The Schwinn Tricycle is Designed for Safety with a Low Tip Over Rate

This has got to be Stewie Griffin’s low rider! For ages eighteen months to five years, the Schwinn 12” Roadster Tricycle offers the rider utmost security with its lowered center of gravity. The Schwinn Roadster’s low to the ground bucket seat allows those that can’t quite reach the pedals mobility with comfortable access to the ground, without losing anything for those able to reach.

This low center of gravity also allows a far lower ‘tip over’ rate! They’ll conquer the bumps along the way with ease cause I’m telling you, only a GIANT spatula is flipping this bad boy over! Encourage them to round the corners on 2 wheels!! The low tip over rate offers safety and peace of mind!

A Heavy Duty, Classic 12” Tricycle

Ride in style! The Schwinn Roadster Tricycle is outfitted with a blue retro styled frame, looking even flashier with chrome fenders! Full steel heavy duty construction means a sound and dependable bike!

The Roadster also has a real wooden deck with the Schwinn name emblazoned on the back panel of the tricycle making this truly classy trike! The Schwinn Roadster promises to be the envy of every toddler on the block!

Each piece is complete with chrome handlebars and full streamers. But no set of wheels is truly completed without a bell! RING-RING!

Assembly and Height Requirements for the Schwinn Roadster Trike

The Schwinn 12” Roadster does take a small amount of assembly but in about four steps your tricycle is ready for the ‘road’. As always, supervision is recommended during play time and an adult should always help with assembling the Tricycle. Instructions included but the helmet isn’t!

There seems to be some controversy on the height requirement for the Schwinn 12” Roadster however. While the box does display a height chart saying recommended for 24”-36” rider, it seems a 38” height requirement is needed to comfortably access the pedals. Schwinn says: 38” and up to pedal the trike. Anything shorter than that will result in ‘foot traffic’.

Freaking Cool!
This tricycle (A red version for boys) was given to my son as a gift from his grandparents. I had the honor, as I always do, of assembly. I was reading reviews on the Schwinn website and somebody was talking about the assembly being a problem… well, I don’t know what type of bike the negative reviewer had, or what instructions he was reading, but he didn’t have the same bike I had the pleasure of assembling.

The holes all lined up (unless maybe he had the thing upside down) and the paint job was excellent (he also said the paint job was bad). What I don’t like are the stickers used in place of pinstripes, but that’s not a deal breaker. The seat is comfortable for my son, he loves riding it around the house and outside and the thing is as sturdy as it should be.

Granddaughter loves this!
We purchased this for our granddaughter’s third birthday. We knew it was pricey but hope to have more grandchildren in the future who will be able to use it. The price found on Amazon was by far the most reasonable. The tricycle looked great online but seeing in on delivery, we were thrilled. It’s a good, quality tricycle from a company with a long history of outstanding products. The blue color was dazzling!

Great Tricycle
This tricycle is a great value. While more expensive than other tricycles, you definitely get what you pay for. We bought this for my son when he turned 2 in 2008. We have now owned it for close to 3 years and are very pleased with the purchase. My son rides it almost every day. He gets a lot of compliments from both adults and other kids. When we first bought it, it was a little bit too large for him. However, he still managed to ride it by pushing himself along with his feet. At close to age 5 the tricycle is still the right size (with adjustable seat).
